How To Make Backups Of Your WHAP Website

In this article learn how to create and manage backup versions of a WHAP website. This article covers creating backups, restoring a website to an alternative backup, and deleting backups.

WHAP allows for the creation of backup versions of a website that can be reverted back to.

Making Backups

To make a backup version of a website ensure the "Backup" tab is selected. By clicking the "Add" button WHAP will create a new backup version of the website that comes complete with the time and date that the backup was made.

Click "Yes Create" to create the backup version of the website.

The above image shows the new backup version of the website.

Note: Backups are ordered by the date they were created with the latest backup positioned at the top of the list.

Restoring Backups

To restore a website back to an alternative version ensure the "Backup" tab is selected. Choose the version to restore by clicking the "Restore" button on the right of the backup, then select "Yes Restore" from the dialogue box that appears.

Important Note: WHAP will not automatically create a backup of the current version of the website. Before restoring to an alternative version, ensure the current version of the website has a backup.

Deleting Backups

To delete a backup version of a website ensure the "Backups" tab is selected. Click the "Delete" button on the right of the backup to delete, then select "Yes Delete" from the dialogue box that appears.
